Flyte has created dozens of free, high-quality financial education programs with its partners. Below are some examples of our programming.

 

Virtual Entrepreneur Empowerment Program
May 2022-May 2023

Our flagship Entrepreneur Empowerment Program works with over 50 early-stage small business owners annually. The majority of these business owners are women of color with children.
Each entrepreneur has access to the same resources over 12 months:

  • 15+ hours of personal and business finance training

  • 5+ hours of non-financial business training

  • 40+ hours of professional mentorship

  • A cash stipend to allocate towards business expenses

  • Access to discounted professional services

  • Access to free financial planning resources

  • Access to low-interest micro loans up to $50k

Virtual Entrepreneur Empowerment Program

April 2021-April 2022

12 month program focused on female BIPOC business owners with children.

30 participants who each receive a business stipend, personal and business finance training and a dedicated professional mentor over the lifetime of the program.

Topics covered: personal and business credit, budgeting, cyber security, fraud detection, tax filing, tracking income and expenses, bookkeeping, preparing financial statements

Community Partners: University of New Orleans, The New Orleans Black Chamber of Commerce, Propeller Incubator, Fund17, Algiers Economic Development Fund, El Centro

Finance Partners: CapitalOne, Regions Bank, Home Bank, New York Life, Hope Credit Union

manage your money during coronavirus webinars

apr/may 2020

Five week webinar series run in conjunction with the NOLA Public Libraries to help people in New Orleans manage the financial impact of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Topics Covered: Budgeting, credit scores and reports, investing during Coronavirus, the pathways to home ownership, navigating the unemployment insurance system

Partners: NOLA Public Libraries, New York Life, Hope Credit Union, Home Bank

Attendance: 20-40 attendees per session

Age group: 18-65+

 

Tulane Financial Education Program

Jan/Feb 2020

Four week course run with The Well department for student health and wellness. Topics covered included bank accounts, budgeting, credit management and planning for the future

Partners: Regions Banks and New York Life

Attendance: 30-40 students per session

Age group: 18-25

Keller Library Financial Literacy Workshop Series

Sep-Nov 2019

Ten week program run out of the Keller Library in Broadmoor in partnership with the Orleans Public Defenders

Topics Covered: Bank accounts, budgeting, credit, job readiness, managing court fees, insurance, housing access, filing taxes, planning for retirement

Partners: Regions Bank, New York Life, Hope Credit Union, Home Bank, New Orleans Business Alliance, Louisiana Alliance of CPAs

Attendance: Average of 20 per session
